Andrew Lewis is the author of Dog Food Secrets.  A few years back Andrew Lewis lost his dog from an illness caused by the tainted commercial dog food his dog had been fed.  The grief he felt over his dog’s death spurred Andrew Lewis to do research into the commercial dog food industry.  The result of his extensive research is the book Dog Food Secrets.  His research and the death of his dog caused him to become anti-commercial dog food.

I stumbled onto Dog Food Secrets strictly by accident.  I was talking to a friend a few years ago when I mentioned that my Pomeranian dog Big Shot was a very finicky eater.  Because he did not  like commercial dog food I had been adding gravy, from my families meal, to Big Shot's dried kibble.  Big Shot would eat the dried kibble with the gravy poured over it.  When everything with the gravy had been eaten he would stop eating.  He often left a major part of the kibble dog food.  It seemed he would starve himself instead of eating the commercial dog food.  We began to feed him table scraps.  Big Shot loved my family’s meal left overs.  I had heard that there were things that humans could eat that were toxic for dogs to eat.  I found this worrisome as I did not have a complete understanding as to what he could and could not eat.  In talking to a neighborhood friend she told me about Andrew Lewis’s Dog Food Secrets.

Dog Food Secrets REVIEW

The ebook, Dog Food Secrets, gave me detailed recipes designed specifically for a dog’s nutritional needs.  This book gave me the answers to what to feed Big Shot. 

Andrew Lewis has also included dog treat recipes in his Dog Food Secrets book.  The book has the items listed that dogs should not be allowed to eat.  I was able to relax knowing that the meals I was preparing for Big Shot were good for him.  The meals made by using Andrew Lewis’ Dog Food Secrets recipes meet a dog’s nutritional needs.

The Dog Food Secrets book, newsletter and blog provide excellent support information about feeding your dog good nutritional foods.

My little Pomeranian, Big Shot, is no longer with us.  He lived to be 12 years old.  We got another dog from an animal shelter.  She is a Dalmatian named Pepper.  Pepper has only eaten commercial dog food recommended by Andrew Lewis or homemade food.  I am an unequivocal advocate of homemade dog food.  My dog loves the meals she is made.  There has never been any sign of finickiness over food since I switched from commercial dog food to homemade.

Dog Food Secrets - Highly Recommended

I highly recommend Dog Food Secrets.  If you are concerned over your dog’s health then join us in making your own dog food.  When I first started cooking dog food I found it inconvenient at times.  At the time I was cooking one meal each evening.  Now I cook several meals and wrap meal size servings in plastic wrap.  After the meal is prepared and wrapped I freeze them in the refrigerator.  When I need a meal I get one of the frozen prepared meals and place it in the microwave.  A couple of minutes later it is warm and ready for Pepper.  Be careful it is not too hot.   Dog’s have a tendency to gobble things down.  If it is too hot they will burn the inside of their mouths and digestive tract.
